Oakdale Cemetery and Grounds

Oakdale Cemetery has served Mount Airy and Surry County for more than a century. Grounds Maintenance cares for City parks, greenway and landscapes.

Oakdale Cemetery

Oakdale Cemetery is at 1500 North Main Street and has served as a final resting place since the late 1800s. It covers 22 acres with more than 6,000 burial sites, and more than 1,200 sites are available in 1, 2 or 4 plot sites. The City also has four 64-niche columbariums for cremation remains.

  • City staff care for grounds, roads and sidewalks.
  • Headstones and footstones are the responsibility of the family, not the City.
